International Yoga Day 2026
DPS Ruby Park Observes World Yoga Day with Grace, Harmony and Mindfulness.
International Yoga Day is observed annually on 21st June, celebrating the timeless wisdom and transformative power of yoga. Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata commemorated the occasion through a series of thoughtfully curated programmes conducted within the school premises as well as at Gitanjali Stadium.
The celebration commenced on 18th June (Thursday) with an exclusive yoga session for the teachers. Adding further distinction to the occasion, 20 Interact Club volunteers from classes 8 to 11 of Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata participated in ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ (Welcome through Cleanliness) campaign.
On 19th June (Friday), the focus of the celebration shifted to the students with an engaging array of activities aimed at promoting the essence of yoga and holistic well-being. Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata participated in ‘Daur Se Dhyan’ (Run to Meditation) event organised by the Kolkata Police at Gitanjali Stadium. A team of 140 students of Class X (Sections A to L) accompanied by 15 teachers actively took part in the event from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The celebration continued in the school premises with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an inaugural dance performance involving yoga stances. An inspiring pledge encouraging everyone to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily lives was taken by all present. The celebration continued with a graceful yoga presentation, where students of classes 5 to 12 demonstrated various Asanas and breathing techniques. A particularly noteworthy highlight of the celebration was the active participation of under-privileged children from the NGO Srijan Vidyapeeth, which beautifully reflected the school’s commitment towards inclusivity, social responsibility and meaningful community engagement. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. Later in the day, a motivational yoga workshop and seminar was organised for the NCC and Guide students of the school, further reinforcing the values of discipline, mindfulness and healthy living.
Taking it a step further, Delhi Public School Ruby Park actively participated in the International Yoga Day celebration held at Red Road, Kolkata, on 21st June (Sunday), joining the larger movement that promoted the values of wellness, harmony and holistic living.
