Saraswati Puja 2020 Celebration at DPS Ruby Park Kolkata, Senior School

Saraswati Puja 2020 Celebration

‘Vasant Panchami’ is very close to the hearts of all the Indians. On this auspicious day, the management, faculty and students of DPS Ruby Park Kolkata, came together to celebrate Saraswati Puja and worship Goddess Saraswati- the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture, and seek her blessings. India has always been a culturally rich nation and we, here at DPS Ruby Park Kolkata, value our traditions and impart a sense of respect towards it.
Bright colours and beautiful flowers were a treat to the eye on that day but the attention was mainly on the eco-friendly method of decoration. All the materials used were bio-degradable and recyclable (all hand made by students under the guidance of the Art Department). Students of classes IX – XII attended the ‘Puja’ where a special ‘Havan’ was held for the students of classes X & XII appearing for the forthcoming board exams.
Every corner of the school campus was decorated by the students. They made beautiful and artistic ‘alpanas’ to enhance the aesthetic essence of the occasion. Talented students sang ‘bhakti-geet’ in the name of Goddess Saraswati.
After the ‘Puja’ and ‘Havan’, ‘prasad’ was distributed among all present followed by ‘Bhog’. Members of the teaching faculty, administrative staff and students came together to make the event a memorable one. An ambience of tranquility and worship spread in the air in the entire venue.
