Independence Day 2026

The entire school community of Delhi Public School Ruby Park Kolkata convened with immense pride and vibrant enthusiasm to observe the nation’s 80th Independence Day on Saturday 15 August 2026.

The solemnity of the occasion was enhanced by the presence of Chief Guest Brigadier Balbir Singh, a Civil Engg Graduate from NIT Bhopal and the special guest Dr Santosh Nimbalkar IPS,Deputy Inspector General,Special Task Force.

The ceremony transitioned to a musical homage by the school choir followed by the Principal’s address. The thematic line-up continued with an expressive dance performance to “Vande Mataram” by the “Bulbuls” of Classes 1 to 4.

The highlight of the event was the theatrical production, “Wheels of Tomorrow: A journey of a billion dreams” that presented an imaginative chronicle of India’s social and technological evolution. In their keynote addresses both Shri Sagar Agarwal, Secretary, OmDayal Education and Research Society and Chief Guest Brigadier Balbir Singh reiterated the significance of educational institutions in fostering an inclusive culture wherein core values like integrity, empathy, and service are woven into daily learning alongside fostering leadership qualities.

To add a special dimension to the commemoration, the school organised a one of a kind exhibition titled Viksit Bharat showcasing the journey of India’s transformation into an empowered nation driven by a futuristic vision, knowledge, heritage, democracy, and collective aspiration.

The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by the school Head Boy Devarsh Chakraborty Thakur.
