We organised Christmas Assembly of Junior Section on 19th Dec, 2016. Our Little Santas presented various acts on this day. It was indeed a Merry Christmas.
Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata was privileged to felicitate Padmasree Santosh Yadav, the only woman in the world to scale Mount Everest twice, on 17 August 2016.
After the welcome dance recital by the school dance troupe, Smt. Yadav addressed the children. A prolific speaker, she drew anecdotes from her own life to deliver a motivating speech that left the students bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm. She spoke about the importance of discipline, regular regime of exercise and perseverance to build ones character and reach ones goals.
The Raksha Bandhan Special Assembly for classes 2, 3, and 4 was held on 24th August, 2016.The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Principal Ma’am and other invited dignitaries while the choir rendered ‘Aaguner Paroshmoni’ as the welcome song.This was followed by a song in Bhojpuri which celebrated the spirit of Rakhsha Bandhan.
The highlight of this special assembly was the felicitation of three Class – X students by Principal Ma’am for having ranked 13th, 83rd and 98th in the SMTE (Science and Maths Talent Examination) held in December ,2015. This was followed by Principal Ma’am’s address to the august gathering.
The students of classes 2, 3 and 4 presented a show which had Rakhsha Bandhan as the main theme. The dancers showcased the love between brothers and sisters through a Rajasthani folk dance. The assembly ended with the vote of thanks by Brig. Mukherjee , the administrator of the school and singing of the National Anthem.
The Janmashtami Special Assembly was held on 23rd August 2016 in the Junior School premises. A beautiful backdrop was prepared with flowers and other decorations. Children from Nursery to Class 1 participated in the programme.
The programme began with an introductory speech by the Headmistress followed by the Principal’s address.
Children of UKG and Class 1 sang a beautiful song welcoming the monsoon followed by a dance. The importance of ‘Janmashtami’ and the love between Lord Krishna and mother Yashoda was narrated and well enacted. The friendship between Krishna and his friends was depicted by a beautiful song and dance. ‘Jhulan Yatra’ was also explained and portrayed through a beautiful dance.
The vote of thanks was given by the Junior school Administrator followed by a few lines of appreciation from one of the parents.
The programme was a grand success and everyone present enjoyed it immensely.
The Scholar Badge Special Assembly for classes 2,3 and 4 was held on 25th June ,2016. The programme commenced with a welcome song which was followed by a welcome dance glorifying God and paying obeisance to his beautiful creation. Principal ma’am then addressed the gathering where she stressed upon the importance of fact that learning should not be limited to only academics.
This year 21 students from class- 2, 25 students from class- 3 and 14 students from class- 4 were awarded the scholar badge for their outstanding academic performance. The programme ended with the vote of thanks which was given by Brig. Mukherjee followed by the singing of the national anthem.
