REVERENCE 2019, THE 16th ANNUAL FUNCTION-DAY 2

Reverence 2019 was celebrated by the senior school students from Classes 7-12 on 28th April 2019.
Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest on Day 2 was distinguished educationist Professor Ajoy Kumar Ray, Padmashree Awardee and Former Director of the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology(IIEST), Shibpur. Also present were the Guests of Honour, Professor Sankar K. Ghosh, Vice Chancellor , Kalyani University and Dr. Kunal Basu, renowned author of English fiction.The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the chanting of the Deep Danam Stotra.
This was followed by a medley of songs sung by 80 students of the school choir. The Principal then presented the Annual report for the year 2018 – 19 along with a powerpoint presentation congratulating and appreciating the relentless hardwork of the students and the parents.
The highlight of the day was the Prize distribution ceremony. The students of Classes 7-12 were felicitated with the KVPY,JBNSTS,NTSE,Blue Blazers, Gold Badges , Honour Badges and the Prizes for Special Attendance. A total of 165 students received the various awards.
It was then time to showcase the talent of the students in the co-curricular sphere with the dance drama ‘Yuga Drashta, Sri Krishna’ which encapsulated the myriad forms which make Sri Krishna one of the most loved and revered deities across generations. A total of 400 students took part in this play. 130 actors, 230 dancers, 20 back stage crew, 15 playback singers and 30 voice-over students had put in hours of practice to stage this spectacular presentation.
The programme came to an end with the Vote of thanks and the singing of the National Anthem.

Holi Special Assembly at Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Junior

Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Junior School celebrated the spirit of Holi in a Special Morning Assembly on 8th March 2019, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. The programme was attended by parents and grandparents. The school Principal Ms. Anusree Ghose graced the occasion and addressed the gathering.
The programme began with a traditional Holi song from Uttar Pradesh which left the audience enthralled. It was followed by an enactment “ Holika Dahan ” presented by the children of the Junior School. Hindi and Bengali recitations, songs and dances from different states of India added flavour to the spirit of Holi.

Exuberanza Junior Fete (2018 – 19)

On 2nd February, 2019 Delhi Public School Ruby Park organized its grand annual Junior Fete, Exuberanza, with much pomp and fervor. It was an excellent show where the teachers and students of classes 1 to 5 came together and worked tirelessly to put up fun stalls and game corners where both the parents and the students enjoyed with utmost excitement. The day started with an inaugural programme where the school choir sang a medley of melodious songs and our little ones danced to the tunes of some exhilarating songs. The mega event commenced with the releasing of balloons. The teachers and students had put up various colourful and fun stalls. Other than the game stalls the students participated in various competitions like the Party Cap Decorating Competition for Class 2, Mask Making Competition for Class 3, Collage Making Competition for Class 4 and Best Out Of waste for Class 5 that were conducted by teachers in different slots throughout the day. There were different competitions such as No Fire Cookery, Photo Frame Making, Flower Arrangement and Rangoli Making for the kids along with their Grandparents. Children enjoyed the Magic shows which were again held in three separate slots throughout the day. Food stalls with different delicacies and separate game stalls by the Eco Club members were set up. There were even 1 minute games such as Solve the Riddles, Mind Games etc. for parents and elders. The senior students had taken the opportunity to install their own tattoo corner. There were activities such as Water Boating, Mickey Mouse Bouncy and Thermocol Pool etc. outside. To capture all the fun and frolic both the parents and the children clicked pictures at the selfie corner. The underprivileged children from Makaltala School were invited to spend a wonderful day enjoying and engaging themselves in games and activities. Overall the entire event was a euphoric and jubilant celebration of creative and competitive spirits and thus living up to its name, being the most exuberant celebration of the year which made the children and parents relish the day in high spirits and elation.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL ASSEMBLY FOR JUNIOR SCHOOL

Children of Junior School celebrated Christmas in a special Morning Assembly on 20th December 2018. Children put up different performances such as recitation, songs and dances to regale the audience. The audience was enthralled by an enactment called “Santa is coming to Town.” The audience comprised parents and children of Junior School.

Durga Puja Special Assembly for Junior School

DURGA PUJA SPECIAL ASSEMBLY 2018 (JUNIOR SCHOOL)

The children of DPS Ruby Park Junior School celebrated the spirit of Durga Puja in a Special Assembly on 10th October 2018. The programme was attended by the parents and grandparents of the children. Some senior citizens from the old age home ‘SEBA’ were the special invitees. The school Principal, Mrs. Anusree Ghose, graced the occasion with her presence and addressed the gathering.
The programme began with a Durga Bandana sung by the children of Nursery to Class 1 which enthralled the audience. This was followed by a recitation .The highlight of the programme was the dance drama “Panchadurga and Mahishasur Mardini” comprising melodious songs and colourful dances which added to the spirit of the upcoming festival.

Junior School Fest “Abhivyakti” was held in the High School auditorium from 9 a.m. onwards. 17 schools, including DPS Ruby Park, participated in the Fest. Children from Nursery to Class 1, participated in various On Stage and Off Stage events like Expressions, Rhyme and Rhythm, Word Cookies and Little Gems and the children of participating schools got ample opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity. “Abhivyakti” was a success with the host school winning the “Abhivyakti” trophy. Children went back home with happy memories. Participating schools congratulated DPS Ruby Park on their outstanding performances.

Raksha Bandhan Special Assembly was held on 24th August, 2018. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Principal ma’am and the other dignitaries which was followed by the school choir presenting a rendition of a soulful song celebrating the essence of the bond between siblings. The choir was followed by a colourful dance performance by the students of Class 3 and 4. An enthralling skit, ‘Bandhan’, where students of Classes 2, 3 and 4 participated in various acts, was then performed. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and finally with the audience and dignitaries rising for the National Anthem.

DPS Ruby Park continued its tradition of celebrating Independence Day with a plethora of events. The day’s proceedings started with an auspicious note with the hoisting of the national flag by Chief Guest,Brigadier N.S Mukherjee.The school choir sang a medley of patriotic songs followed by a song and dance performance put up by the little gems of the Bulbul Girl Scouts. The English Department came up with an innovative presentation of a poetry collage consisting of self composed poems accompanied by a short video,highlighting on India’s journey through the years.The Bengali department put up a short skit on the Santhal Rebellion of 1855 while the Hindi department’s skit depicted the life of a soldier.The programme reached its fitting culmination with a stunning dance performance to the modern rendition of a classic patriotic song.The proceedings ended on a pleasant note with the Chief Guest’s speech and the delivery of a vote of thanks by the Head Boy of the school.

Scholar Badge Assembly 2017-18 (Classes II – IV)

Scholar Badge Special Assembly : A Report Class II to Class IV

The Scholar Badge Assembly for classes 2, 3 and 4 was conducted on 23rd June 2018 at the AV annexe auditorium. The programme was held to celebrate the hard work and effort of the students in the last session 2017 – 18, where they had fared excellently well. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp along with a medley of melodious songs sung by the school choir. The programme went ahead with Principal Ma’am’s speech where she discussed the performance of the outgoing students of DPS, Ruby Park in the board examinations. It was a proud moment not only for her but also for the teachers, students and the parents present there. Following Principal Ma’am’s address, the girls of class 4 presented a colourful dance performance. The prize distribution began with Class 2 followed by class 3 and 4. 34 students of class 2, 45 students of class 3 and 28 students from class 4 were the proud recipients of the Scholar Badge awards. They were encouraged and applauded by the parents for their endless hard work and efforts that they had put in and had come out with flying colours.
