On 16th of December, 2009, DPS Ruby Park organized “Sports Day” at Salt Lake Stadium. There was a lot of excitement and thrill among the dipsites and finally the much awaited sports day arrived. It started off with a welcome song sung by the school choir,
followed by the “March past” displayed by the senior students and the “oath taking ceremony” by the sports captains. The students were dressed in vibrant coloured dresses which depicted the various houses of the school. The march past was followed
by the “lighting of torch” by the students who had achieved laurels for the school in the field of sports. Then the school principal gave an encouraging speech to the students, followed by a few words of wisdom by our chief guest Mr.Baretto .Thereafter, many
track and field events were conducted for classes 6 and above. Show events like aerobics, karate and yoga were also displayed by the students. The non-participants also participated by cheering and encouraging their schoolmates. The programme ended with the prize distribution
ceremony and the students who had won various events were given medals and certificates. The house cup was won by Narmada House.
